Access control systems are designed to restrict access by unauthorized persons (permanently or during a specified period of time) to the protected premises, zones, buildings or parking lots. An access control point may be a door, turnstile, parking gate, elevator, or another physical barrier, where granting access is electronically controlled. The electric lock is unlocked by device, which verifies the user, e.g. a card, a proximity key fob, a keypad or a biometric reader. AC systems integrated with fire alarm systems enable an efficient evacuation of people in the case of a fire. They can also perform a number of additional functions, such as electronic identification of people, time and attendance, etc.
